RED KACHINA

A rare outside or in this case ‘inside’ performance of the latest tonal soundscape composed by the Secret Gong Orchestra.

Live in the Widow Jane Mine with the Gong collections of Nancy Aleo, Mitch Nur, Ricarda O’Conner, Sam Weng, and Janet Young.

Within the indigenous Pueblo cultures of the American Southwest the Kachina represents ancestral spirits or the person who represents a Kachina spirit in ceremonial dances. Depending upon culture, the Kachina can represent the immortal beings that bring rain, control other aspects of the natural world and society, and act as messengers between humans and the spirit world.

In this presentation by the Secret Gong Orchestra, the Gong is being seen as the tonal messenger to the spirit world. An ambient soundscape with textural overlays, with dynamic overtures of harmonic nuances, and far reaching powerful energetic force.
